about

This is the second track I recorded for the Polarity game project. This track is my second serious attempt at composing a track with Renoise, and represented enormous growth in my comfort and familiarity with both the software and game composition in general. I began incorporating orchestral instrument samples and experimenting with form and more complex rhythmic and harmonic patterns. To use a music theory term, this piece could be described as "through-composed". In the context of this track it means that there are no major thematic repetitions between sections, but rather features a continuously developing melodic and harmonic structure.
