about

Blood for the Blood God is a game designed for a large number of people to play simultaneously through Twitch Plays (players must navigate a maze by typing directions into Twitch chat). By successfully navigating the maze they appease the Blood God and there are all sorts of bloody effects. I'm not sure how it works entirely but it sounds complicated.

Anyway I was tasked by the developer to create any sort of weird music I wanted for the game as long as it wouldn't be incredibly irritating to hear over and over again during play. Since the original object of the game was to summon a demon, I decided it would be appropriately absurd to record myself as a sappy barbershop quartet singing about falling in love with Beelzebub, summoning him, and immediately regretting it. I can't say that I succeeded in my task of making it easy to listen to on repeat, but it was fun to record.

lyrics

Oh Hello my Beelze-baby!
You really make a feller feel swell!
I will sit and pine until you’re mine
And I’l use the ancient artifact to summon you from Hell.

Oh Hello my Beelze-baby
My feelings for you i can’t disguise
So please come through the portal
Just to cuddle this mere mortal
You’ll always be my Lord of the Flies!

Oh Farewell my Beelze-baby
I’m sorry, yes I do not mean to flake
I know it’s just a trifling but your presence is quite stifling
I’m starting to think this was a huge mistake

Oh Farewell my Beelze-baby
Alas I think it’s time to say goodbye
I must voice the strong concern I’ll end up doused in flames eternal
Oh dear God I’m begging please don’t let me die!
